It’s with a heavy heart that I’m selling Elevation of Hamble, affectionately known as “Ellie.” I’m relocating to the mountains of Granada, Spain, and it’s time for her to set sail on new adventures with someone else at the helm.

Ellie is a 1983 German Frers-designed Dufour 39—a solid, high-performance cruiser with elegant lines and a reputation for excellent handling. Unlike newer, lightweight models, this yacht boasts the sturdy craftsmanship Dufour was known for in its earlier years. Her spacious and well-lit interior, dry under-berth storage, and robust hull make her a fantastic liveaboard or cruising vessel.

She is not a modern lightweight Dufour, but the older German Frers designed Dufour 39 from 1983 onwards, with a very attractive and high-performance hull.

The interior is light and airy with plenty of stowage space. Many were originally charter boats, but now make excellent fast cruisers

Dufour Yachts was established in 1964, and until the late 1980s built a series of solidly built fast cruising yachts, of which this Dufour 39 is one of the larger models. The boats have a very good reputation for handling and performance.

I have owned ‘Ellie’ for about 8 years now and in that time I have lived on her, used her as my office and of course as a great sailing boat!
Currently moored at Brighton marina, if needed the mooring can be transferred to new ownership. Brighton marina itself has top class facilities and allow live aboards. Monthly moorings here cost around £500 per month.

Rigging sorted, sails cleaned
Windows and hatches have been resealed.
